“When I retired I realised I needed something to keep myself busy and I decided to focus more on my hobby. I create artworks from wool and beads which sets my work apart from other works of art as it is unique,” he said.

Masipa calls his artwork embroidery craft arts and said he plans to pass on his knowledge and skills to the youth in the community as part of his legacy.

“I do most of my artwork with the women in the Lethuli Old Age Home, a Non-profit organisation, which helps to keep the elderly people in the community, such as myself, busy in the community while they are on rest days. I teach them how to do artwork using wool and beads, it is a job which requires a lot of patience and attention to detail but I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge. I want to teach the younger generation how to do this type of art and hopefully better their lives with these skills.”
