Polokwane councillor up for corruption

Polokwane Ward 8 municipal councillor Tebogo Moja­pelo appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Wednesday) on a charge of corruption. The case was remanded until 7 November for bail application. She remains in custody.
Mojapelo was arrested after the Police reported­ly caught her red-handed on Tuesday. Limpopo Hawks Spokesperson Matimba Maluleke confirmed that a councillor allegedly solicited bribes from job seekers and that a trap was set. “The suspect was nabbed when she accepted a bribe of R2 000 from an undercover member,” Maluleke confirmed.
