[TRAFFC ALERT] Temporary road closure in Church Street

This is following a 'fire incident' in the area, says the Municipality

POLOKWANE – The portion of Church Street between Jorissen and Devenish streets will be closed as a safety precaution following a recent fire incident that left a lot of oil spillage in the road.

According to statement from the Polokwane Municipality, the oil on the road surface as well as the the debris from the damaged property must first be cleaned before the road can be opened for traffic.

“There has been extensive damage to the property and the municipality’s waste management and disaster management services are engaging with the property owners to fast track the cleaning process.”

Progress assessment is being carried out in order to determine how long this closure will be affected.

In the meantime motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
