Seshego murder suspect in court for the alleged murder of girlfriend

The suspect is accused of the murder of Lebogang Lamola (23)

POLOKWANE – The 32-year-old suspect appeared before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Friday for the murder of Lebogang Lamola (23).

Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says his case was remanded to 7 November 2017 for a formal bail application. The suspect remains in custody.

POLOKWANE – The suspect in this matter handed himself over to the Seshego Police Station yesterday (Wednesday, 25 October 2017) evening at around 20:00.

The highly wanted suspect who has been on the run since Monday was said to be hiding at different places, which included Rusternburg, in the North West Province and the Bela Bela area, allegedly couldn’t handle the pressure anymore and handed himself over to the authorities, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

He is accused of the murder of Lebogang Lamola (23) whose body was discovered on Monday by her mother upon returning home.

The suspect will appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.


POLOKWANE – According to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the body of the 23-year-old was found by her mother at around 17:30 yesterday (Monday, 24 October 2017)). “The deceased’s body was found lying in her bedroom and had multiple stab wounds through her body. It is suspected that she may have been killed by her boyfriend,” said Ngoepe.

Initial police investigations have revealed that the deceased’s boyfriend left a suicide note at the crime scene. The suspect is still at large, he added.

Police are requesting Curthbert Manamela to come to the Seshego Police Station to assist with investigations in this matter.

Manamela is a scholar taxi driver and drives a Toyota Condor, maroon in colour, confirmed Ngoepe.

The police further urge anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect in this matter, to contact the nearest Police Station, the 24-hour crime stop number on 0860010111 or the crime line sms 32211.
