[WATCH] Make your own pasta and celebrate World Pasta Day!

Review paid a visit to Limpopo Chefs Academy where Melida Foromo (student), Rekgotswe Mashamaite (student) and Kelly Bauristhene (center manager) showed us how to make fresh pasta at home.

POLOKWANE – Pasta, an Italian dish much loved by millions around the world, is quite easy to make at home.

Recipe:

Ingrediets:

2 cups flouer

3 eggs

Pinch of salt

Flower for dusting

Method:
  1. Bring the flour and salt together with the egg with a fork.
  2. Once it starts forming a dough, plop it out onto the surface and bring together.
  3. At first the dough will be sloppy, but as you begin to knead it, it will firm up.
  4. Continue kneeing for 6-7 minutes until the dough forms a smooth elastic ball.
  5. Wrap with clingfilm and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes in room temperature.
  6. Once the dough is rested, dived in four pieces.
  7. Dust your surface and pasta machine lightly with flour.
  8. Start on the widest setting and begin by sending the pasta through it. Repeat.
  9. Adjust the machine to a thinner setting and send the pasta through it. Repeat.
  10. Continue slowly until you get to #2 or #3.
  11. Hang pasta to dry slightly and rest.
  12. Cook as normal.
