POLOKWANE – 100 041 full-time and 27 555 part-time matric candidates in the province will write their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, with the majority beginning today.
Not only has the Premier and the MEC for Education wished matrics well for the exams but the ANC and DA in Limpopo have also conveyed their well wishes.

Matrics begin their last push
Provincial Spokesperson for the ANC, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says the ANC wishes all Gr 12 learners all the best with the Senior Certificate examinations.
“We are confident that your preparations for the examinations will carry you through.”
Ntshavheni says our country and province need educated future leaders across all spheres of life who will continue to work for and build a better South Africa and the Senior Certificate is a major milestone to the future.
“You will commence with your examinations on the day that the ANC, the entire liberation movement and South Africa marks the birth date of the great leader of our struggle, a lawyer and once a Mathematics teacher and President-General of the ANC, comrade OR Tambo. In his memory and in honour of his contribution towards our freedom, you must dare not disappoint the nation,” he concluded.
The DA’s Provincial Leader and provincial spokesperson for Education, Jacques Smalle says the DA have noted that many matric learners, especially in Vuwani, endured difficult circumstances recently due to service delivery protests and acknowledge their perseverance.
“Today, 24 October 2017, my DA colleagues from the National Assembly will be conducting oversight in the area in order to ensure that exams happen and learners write under the best of conditions,” he said.
Smalle has urged all students to do their best and parents to provide support, saying the DA believes that obtaining a matric certificate is the stepping stone to a future filled with opportunity.
“The DA will keep a close eye on these exams by visiting schools in the province to assess the department’s readiness and how they deal with glitches that might unfold during this crucial period to avoid leakage of matric papers,” he said.
