A walk through an indigenous forest

The Lesodi Trail is a stone's throw away from the Magoebaskloof Hotel just off the R71.

HAENERTSBURG – It is a beautiful meander, up and down steps, through a shady indigenous forest with old interestingly-shaped trees as well as cathedral trees and strangler figs. The forest is also home to a group of samango monkeys. Being shy primates, they are often not visible but can be heard rustling through the leaves of the high tree canopies as they watch the humans walk on by.

Rotary Haenertsburg maintains the area and preserves its inherent beauty. There’s a bench made out of concrete and rocks at the half-way mark to rest and take a breather while enjoying the sounds and beauty of the forest.
