Suspected trio crime syndicate nabbed in Waterval district

One of the arrested suspects is an ex-police officer, says the police

LIMPOPO – Five suspects, including an ex-police officer were arrested following a tip-off from the local community about their involvement in trio criminal activities in the Waterval policing area, says the police.

According to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspected trio crime syndicate members were spotted  travelling in a white Golf GTI near Njhaka Njhaka village outside Thohoyandou and were intercepted and arrested by the police members.

“During the arrest two firearms, three magazines and nine cellphones were found in their possession and confiscated,” said Ngoepe.

All five suspects will appear before the Waterval Magistrate Court on Monday.

Police investigations are still continuing.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended these Teams of Police Officers and the external role players on the job-well done.

The General has assured the citizens of this Province that during the coming festive season ,there is going to be a huge dust where-ever there will be a foot print of any criminal activity but members of the Community are still requested and encouraged to inform the Police immediately about the existence of any criminal activities in and around their areas.
