Learners regale in Pemps’ 85th birthday celebration

Pietersburg English Medium Primary School (Pemps) is the oldest English Medium School in the city and this year the school celebrated its 85th birthday.

POLOKWANE – The birthday celebrations ran for a week and were incorporated to coincide with the last week of the third term with a series of fun activities such as fun rides, jumping castles and other rides.

Some of the learners gave their insights about the school and how they feel attending the oldest English medium school in the city.

Refentse Pitseng: “I feel honoured and proud to be at Pemps and I am happy to be part of a school that is over 80 years old.”

Kgaogelo Maila: “During the celebrations I learned a lot about the school I attend. I feel proud I got the opportunity to attend Pemps from Gr R to Gr 7 and I wish all the other learners here at the school the best of luck. Same for the teachers so they can keep the standard of the school as high as it has been for years to come.”

Phindulo Mainganye: “I wish Pemps a happy 85th birthday and I hope the school will still be running when I am done with my tertiary studies, that would be awesome.”

Nkazimulo Sibanda: “I applaud the learners, teachers and personnel for the good work they do at the school. Their patience, loyalty and perseverance is truly commendable.”

Noko Legodi: “I wish Pemps the happiest 85t birthday and another happy 85 years to come. We learned a lot about the history of the school during the celebrations and I feel honoured to be part of such a phenomenal school.”
