A breath-taking display of culinary delights created the perfect ambience for the Cancer Friendship Tea that was hosted at Protea Hotel Ranch Resort on Saturday morning.
Sisters Eileen Schofield and Delmarie Zamparini, who hosted the event for the last couple of years, were this year joined by Vicky Shearer and ensured that guests did not only have the opportunity to indulge in a feast of cakes and tarts too many to name, but could also enjoy good fellowship.
The nougatina, strawberry meringue and black forest cakes and a sumptuous mille- feuille were some of the favourites that were complemented by savouries, fruit juices and a selection of teas.
Schofield thanked guests for their contribution towards a worthy cause and said that the proceeds will be donated to the Theunis Fichardt Hospitium. “An amount in excess of R80 000 was raised,” Schofield confirmed.
