Water shut down planned for 6 October will affect Polokwane

Maintenance will be undertaken at the Olifantspoort Scheme from 06:00 am to 20:00 pm

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says the reason for the shut-off is to replace switchgears on the electricity panel at the plant.

All areas being supplied from the Olifantspoort (including those outside Polokwane Municipality) Scheme will be affected since the plant will be off during that period.

“Lepelle Nothern Water will ensure that reservoirs are kept full before the action is being implemented, to minimize the risks of water shortage,” said the municipality

Residents and business are advised to use water sparingly during a period leading to the event, during and beyond.

Residents are advised to prepare and take measures against the risks of not having adequate water.
