Rameez Patel remanded in custody for the murder of his mother

Patel appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Monday morning.

POLOKWANE – Patel (30) was remanded in custody with no bail, until 11 and 12 October for a formal bail application and for further police investigations to take place.

Patel was arrested on Friday and charged with murder, after his mother was shot and killed in Nirvana on 19 September.

Following his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court, Patel will then appear in the Polokwane High Court as the trial of his wife’s murder, which he stands accused for, continues.

The trial was postponed for a week to give Patel time to mourn the death of his mother.

Rameez Patel’s father, Firoz, was also shot and killed last year.
