Hairdressing excellence at Tonny Mesca
Utilising his vast experience in the hairstyling business, Tonny Tumelo Hlokoa, founded the Tonny Mesca hair services, taking an innovative spin on hairdressing.
POLOKWANE – For Tonny, born and bred in Mpumalanga, hairdressing has always been a family business. After completing his mechanical engineering diploma he was asked to join the family business, Hair Excellence, in Polokwane in 1999, an offer he couldn’t resist.
When Hair Excellence ceased to exist in 2012, he decided to pursue other endeavours and in 2016 he decided to open his own hairdressing business, Tonny Mesca.
“I have worked in several other industries but I always seem to find my way back to hairdressing, leading me to believe that maybe God wants me to do this,” he said.
In January he began operating from DL Hair Salon located at 19 Grobler Street.
“Some of the challenges I faced when starting out as a brand was establishing a clientele, I also had to adjust to working in a new business environment.
“It was not easy starting the business without any financial background but I’m bringing new things to the hair industry, new ways of styling, quality services and I also give a quality guarantee on my work to all my clients.
“I’m passionate about marketing my brand and I take every opportunity I can to try and market my business from every angle. I call upon people to come and test my skills, quality service guaranteed,” he smiled.
