BREAKING NEWS – Rameez Patel to spend weekend behind bars

Murder accused Rameez Patel will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday facing another charge of murder after he was arrested earlier today (Friday).

Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed that a 30-year-old man was arrested earlier. The suspect was positively linked to the death of his mother, according to Ngoepe.

He indicated that the suspect’s mother was killed in cold blood on 19 September after a suspect entered the home of Mahjebeen Patel and opened fire. She was rushed to hospital where she later died. This a year after Patel’s father was killed in an alleged armed robbery in the industrial area of Polokwane.

Patel was arrested by a team of detectives from Westenburg Police Station and Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba commended the team for a job well done.
