Catch-up lessons for Vuwani learners

The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, has promised catch-up lessons for Vuwani students who did not write their preliminary examinations.

LIMPOPO – Motshekga addressed the media at the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) headquarters in Pretoria where she stated that she was disappointed that almost 1 600 Gr 12 learners in the area didn’t write their preliminary exams.

“We have already handed over the catch up plan proposal to the parliamentary committee about the learners and we are positive we will get a response in due course,” she said.

Last week, the provincial government opened the offices of the municipality and the traffic department, an act that left the Pro-Makhado Municipality Task Team disgruntled as they believe the revenue generated will go to Lim 345 Municipality, which will strengthen the municipality further.

“The offices in the area will be serviced directly by the provincial departments, CoGHSTA and LEDET. We opened these offices to help bring stability and peace in Lim 345 while we are engaging with all stakeholders to reach an amicable solution,” said CoGHSTA MEC, Makoma Makhurupetje.

Last Friday, Gr 12 learners in Vuwani missed their Life Orientation examinations, which were also their final Life Orientation examination as all learners across the country won’t be writing it in November.
