Police to investigate drowning of two men

The police in Maake outside Tzaneen and Leboeng outside Burgersfort are investigating two separate incidents of drowning which occurred this week.

LIMPOPO – According to statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe,  the body of Lebo Phalane was discovered floating in a river close to his home in the Maake area on Thursday.

“It is reported he went missing after leaving his home in Gafane Village on Sunday 10 September 2017.”

Meanwhile in the Leboeng area, the body of Maphodisa Advice Sentsho (23) from the Willows village was discovered floating in the waterfalls near the Strydom Tunnel. “It is alleged he left his home on Tuesday 12 September heading in the direction of the  Strydom Tunnel waterfalls to perform rituals.

The police with the assistance of the SANDF recovered his body from the water.”

The two incidents are still under police investigation.
