TAKE NOTE: City wide water shortage alert

According to the Polokwane Municipality reservoir levels remain drastically low which is affecting the water supply to parts of the city.

POLOKWANE – Water Shortages and low pressure have already been reported in the high lying areas of Flora Park, Ster Park, Bendor, Serala View.

“Residents residing in the low catchment areas are urged to limit water usage to domestic consumption only to allow reservoir levels to pick up. Watering of gardens is strictly prohibited.

Reconnection work along Devenish mainline

Reconnection work along the Devenish mainline is still  affecting parts of the CBD, Westenburg, Ivy Park/Dale, Nirvana, Downtown, Penina park, Ladanna, Madiba Park and the Extensions.

The re-connection is expected to be completed by Friday midday, however, there is possibility of reopening the system before the planned time.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality hereby notifies residents of possible water shortages in high catchment areas in the city and surrounding areas.

“This is due to power dips at Ebenezer purification plant earlier today which have resulted in dropping reservoir levels,” says the municipality.

The plant is currently back online and pumping to Polokwane has resumed, however, due to high demand as a result of the heat, the levels are not picking up.

Some of the high catchment areas like Flora Park/Serala View have already reported low water pressure. and the municipality are working together with Lepelle Northern Water to salvage the situation.

Residents are advised to use water for domestic consumption only during this period to ensure reservoirs levels pick up. Water of gardens is strictly prohibited.

The down time has also affected areas along the Mamabolo and Mankweng line.
