Mologadi le Setso, a cultural organisation based in Ga-Masemola will host its third Heritage Day celebration festivities at Apel crossing in Sekhukhune area on Saturday.
Event organiser, Frederick Mathabathe said the activity lineup on the day includes business coaching aimed at the youth in the area, performances by various traditional groups and artists.
“We will present workshops for hawkers and small medium micro enterprises. We will also promote our new Helele clothing brand in conjunction with our heritage clothing stream. Learners from the surrounding areas will attend a short business coaching session which will be conducted by officials from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
Community members will be taught about different cultures, their food, attire, values and morals. “We came up with this initiative because we want to propel development and growth of cultural industries in the heritage sector and encourage growth through strategic interventions based on the current heritage sector parameters with regards to the characteristics and trends they have experienced,” Mathabathe said.
