TAKE NOTE: Planned water cut to affect the CBD and residential areas

The water cut will be implemented on Thursday, 14 September from 06h00

POLOKWANE – The municipality says the water cut has been planned in order to reconnect the new 630mm mainline pipe along Devenish Street.

Should all go according to plan, the re-connection should be completed by Friday midday or earlier.

“In the event challenges are experienced with the re-connection, the municipality will provide temporary relief through water tankers to the affected areas,” the municipality said.

The shut-down will affect parts of the CBD, Nirvana, Rainbow Park, Ivy Dale and Ivy Park, Westernburg, Madiba Park and the Extension areas.

The Devenish line was disconnected in June to allow for construction of a new non asbestos line as part of the old infrastructure replacement project.

Water is currently being supplied through a by-pass pipe which is smaller in diameter. This is the last reconnection into the reticulation system.
