LIMPOPO – A young and energetic girl from Ha-Nthabalala outside Louis Trichardt, Thendo Nkuna, recently launched her clothing brand called Zwithu Zwi Ntha.
The 23-year-old refused to wait for opportunities to come knocking at her door. Her innovative ideas enabled her to create opportunities.
She matriculated at Thwalima Secondary School. From there, she went to Central Johannesburg College to study diesel mechanics.
“I dropped out few years later as I was not doing something that I love,” she said.
She said she decided to start her brand as life was becoming difficult for her.
“After having my second child, life became tough and I didn’t want my children to grow up the way I did. I wanted them to have a better life,” she added.
She further said that the name Zwithu Zwi Ntha means ‘Things are on top’.
“It simply means that life is good when you have everything under control,” she added.
Zwithu Zwi Ntha is an urban fashion brand which aims to take the fashion industry by storm.
The brand is targeting young people.
“My target market is mostly the youth as they are already familiar with the term Zwithu Zwi Ntha,” she said.
Although she has encountered challenges, she never lets them get her down.
“I didn’t have enough money for merchandise, but that didn’t stop me. That’s why the brand has grown so much. In whatever you do challenges will always be there. It’s up to you how you choose to overcome them,” she added.
