Mahwelereng police arrest suspects for serious offences

Four suspects were recently arrested for committing crimes including murder and rape.

MOKOPANE – The first arrest was that of a 26-year-old suspect who was arrested at his home for the murder of Jeffrey Mogatla (45).

It is alleged that Mogatla suffered from multiple stabbed wounds and lost his life while in Mokopane Hospital.

The suspect appeared in Mokerong district court on Monday, 4 September and will remain in custody till Friday, 8 September.

The second arrest was that of a 22-year-old Pakistanian, who was arrested on Monday, 4 September, for raping a 10-year-old boy in a toilet in Masodi Village.

The suspect will appear in court on Friday.

The third suspect arrested, a 28-year-old, appeared Monday, 4 September, in court for raping a 36-year-old woman of Mosesetjane.

It is alleged the suspect broke into the victim’s home and assaulted her. He appeared in court on Tuesday where the case was postponed until 26 October.

The 26-year-old owner of a shop in Sekgakgapeng village was arrested and appeared in court for murder.

It is alleged that the suspect beat up a 35 year old victim whom he alleges to have found breaking into his shop last week Friday.

The case was postponed to Friday.

All the suspect remain in custody.
