Toyota Knights, the charity and social responsibility arm of Limpopo Toyota, paid a visit to the SPCA Polokwane on Saturday and donated a bakkie load of animal food and dog beds made of used tyres.
“We used the opportunity to assist with the cleaning of the kennels and also played with the animals. We were joined by a group of learners from a local school and we rewarded them with refreshments after their hard work,” Toyota Knights Coordinator at Limpopo Toyota, Nelmar Smit said.
Manager of SPCA Polokwane, Hendrik de Kock said it is always a pleasure to entertain visitors at the SPCA.
“The animals become very lonely and need interaction with people. Although we appreciate the work that visitors do on the premises, we still welcome those who just come and visit and interact with our animals, of which a great number have been abandoned by their owners,” De Kock said.
He reckoned that it was important for children who do not have their own pets to come to the SPCA and learn how to care for animals.
