Future chefs, will you make the cut?

Admissions for the National Youth Checfs Training Programme (NYCTP) are now open.

POLOKWANE – The National Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Expanded Public Works Programme and the South African Chefs Association is giving hopeful and aspiring Chefs a good opportunity in the following Provinces:

– Limpopo

– Mpumalanga

– North-West

– Free State

– Gauteng

– Kwazulu-Natal

– Eastern-Cape

– Western-Cape

– Northern-Cape

The NYCTP is running admissions for 2017 and urges hopefuls who are interested in or have a passion for being a chef or in the hospitality industry to enter for their training programme.

The aim for this programme is to help young, unemployed individuals to gain skills and experience to succeed in the hospitality industry.

The criteria for accepting candidates are as follows:

– You must be between the ages of 18 – 35-years-old

– Must have a matric qualification, with English as a subject

– Must be a South African citizen

– Must attach a certified ID document 

– Must attach or write a motivational letter which states that you want to or you’re interested in being a Chef or doing Hospitality 

– Attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV)

The NYCTP training programme will take place for a period of 12 months (1 year).

The closing date for all applications is Thursday 31 August 2017 and please take note that if you have not received a response within two weeks period after the closing date (31 August), then consider your application unsuccessful.
