No more suffering in silence for the local youth

Lingering Innovative Minds is a non-profit organisation (NPO) based in Polokwane comprising a group of youth who aim to uplift their peers and help them to find their purpose in life.

POLOKWANE – They recently hosted a motivational talk at Westenburg Secondary School where they spoke about the issues and challenges they faced in their respective lives and what their career aspirations are.

“Our main focus is on education, children and the youth. We want to help them secure a better future for themselves and motivate them to work hard to achieve their goals and succeed in life. Most youths, especially those from townships, suffer in silence in terms of social challenges they are faced with and through Lingering Innovative Minds we want to provide them with a platform where they can engage with others on these concerns. We try to show them they are not alone in their struggles, be it emotionally, physically or financially among others. Through this innovation we want to show them we have all faced these challenges and show them they will also be able to overcome them just like we did,” said Saraleigh Martin, the organisation’s treasurer.

With their pay it forward motto the group of youngsters say they aim to help the youth and in turn ask them to help others around them, creating a cycle of caring and kindness.
