POLOKWANE – This was a new first for Polokwane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and , chairperson of the SPCA committee, Tania le Roux explained what happened.
“According to the man that dropped them here, the dogs were his grandmother’s and she is now moving from a smallholding to a house in town. The dogs are well looked after and not neglected. Some are very lovable and love humans, while others are a bit shy and afraid of people. There is one mother that we are still nursing, but she loves attention from people.”
Food donations are streaming in and le Roux says that they will still need more.
“Nashua are bringing a bakkie load of food, but we always need more.
We also want to change the dog beds from the wooden pallets that we have now, to plastic ones. We will appreciate it if readers can assist in donating those for us. Plastic beds will be better in terms of hygiene as we will be able to clean them.”
