Mogalakwena Mayor gives family a new home

The family was identified earlier this year when the mayor, Andrina Matsemela, visited them to assess the situation

MOKOPANE – The family was identified earlier this year when the mayor visited them to assess the situation and immediately appointed a contractor to build a house for the family.

Rinah Manganyi used to stay in a one room shack with her children and depends on a social grant to put food on the table, says the municipality’s Head of Communication, Malesela Selokela.

Manganyi thanked the mayor for what she had done for them.

“We will now breathe a sigh of relief as we will sleep comfortably in a proper structure. We are grateful for the house, groceries and blankets. Thanks to the Almighty God and to the Mayor, Andrina Matsemela.”

The municipality wrapped up and celebrated Mandela Day activities when Matsemela switched on over 10 high mast lights in Jakkalskuil village, ward 9.

Villagers could not hide their excitement as they say the lights will curb crime in the area.
