Water supply to affect Potgieter, Webster street and parts of the CBD

An accident damaged the mainline pipe from the Potgieter reservoirs, causing the shortage.

POLOKWANE – The municipality says the damage will affect supply of water in certain areas from Potgieter/Webster Streets moving downtown, including the CBD area as the Potgieter reservoir had to be closed off to allow repairs.

“The damaged line is big and by last night, there was a lot of water that made it impossible to begin with repairs,” the municipality said.

Repairs will resume today and it is estimated to take several hours for repairs to finish.

“The municipality will provide temporary relief through water tankers from the morning. Residents from areas that will be affected are advised to report to the municipality on 0152902629/2376.”

Updates will be provided as the day progresses. The municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
