POLOKWANE – Hip hop music is a music genre developed in the United States by inner-city African Americans in the 1970s which consists of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping.

Today, 11 August, is the celebration of the birth of this unique music genre, starting 44 years ago.

As Google users open the Google homepage, the interactive Google Doodle informs you of this celebration.

When you click on the doodle, a video starts with an information piece on Hip Hop.

Clicking on this interactive Doodle, there are two turn tables that let you mix your own sample of music.

Skipping this you get a tutorial with two LP’s where you can create your own mix.

This tutorial helps you by showing you each step to take after which you can start mixing your own tracks using your computer mouse.

The doodle allows you to pick different hip hop tracks that you can mix with and you then take control of the decks.
