LIMPOPO – The Groblersdal Police are looking for six armed suspects who were part of a group who attacked and killed a elderly man on a farm in the Groblersdal area today (Sunday).
Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the deceased, a 64-year-old farmer, was shot and killed after he and his son arrived at their residence on Kameldoring farm at around 11:30.
“It is alleged the eight suspects attacked the deceased in the garage. During the attack the farmer was shot and killed and his son assaulted. The suspect fled the scene with the deceased vehicle, a white Toyota Etios and a number of stolen firearms.
The police were notified shortly after the attack and manhunt was launched for the suspects.
The stolen vehicle was found abandoned at a shop near Loskop and together with the help of the local neighborhood watch, two of the suspects (aged 25-and 31-years-old) were arrested at Elensdoring about 20 kms from the scene.
Two pistols and silver grey Toyota Fortuner was recovered during the arrest. The origin of the Fortuner is still being investigated.
The six remaining suspects are still on the loose and the police appeal to anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect’s in this matter to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501.
