All women will be treated like queens and receive a 10% discount on their meals at Amarillo Spur in Mall of the North on Women’s Day.
Since 1967, when founder and executive chairman, Allen Ambor, opened the Golden Spur in Newlands, Cape Town, Spur Steak Ranches have been part of the South African family.
In the years since then, Spur has helped to create countless special memories and earned a reputation for tasty, nutritious, value-for-money meals.
Louis Wolmarans, co-owner of Amarillo Spur has been a part of the Spur family since 1993 when he started as a waiter at a Spur in Rustenburg. He became a manager in 1995 and co-owner in 2008.
He calls Mike Hill, owner of Toledo Spur and Sonora Spur in Rustenburg his mentor and says he learnt everything he knows about the restaurant industry from Hill.
Wolmarans is passionate about social responsibility and leads the Amarillo Spur team to reach out to the local community on a regular basis by making donations, being involved with local schools and helping the less fortunate through various community projects.
He is very proud of his employees and says they are the reason for the restaurant’s popularity. “Every person who works here is dedicated to delivering top class services. I also have an amazing management team of which each member takes extreme pride in his work.”
When asked about his business goals, Wolmarans said that it is important that every person who sits down to enjoy a meal or a drink at Amarillo Spur would want to return. “This is why I am so passionate about the food that we serve as well as the service that our customers receive,” he says.
Amarillo Spur is a family restaurant with a dedicated play area where children can safely play under the watchful eyes of child minders.
