Two bodies discovered inside burning building – police to investigate

The Waterval Police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a burned building in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

LIMPOPO –  It is alleged that residents from Bungeni village notified the police at around 02:30 after they noticed the flames in the building. The police arrived on the scene to find the shop and everything in it burnt to ashes, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Two burnt bodies were found inside the building, he added.

“The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but a foul play has not be ruled out.”

Ngoepe confirmed that a case of arson is also being investigated. The deceased were still to be identified.

The police appeal to the public that anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect (s) in this matter, to contact Captain Boshomane at 079 894 5501. Alternatively they can contact their nearest police station, the 24-hour crime stop number 0860010111 or the crime line sms 32211.
