More than 500 members of the South African Taxi Council (Santaco) in Capricorn Region marched to the Department of Transport and Community Safety earlier today (Thursday) to hand over a memorandum of grievances which includes the demand to have exorbitant administration fees, operating licences, their involvement in the taxi recapitalisation programme and duplication of routes to be addressed.
The marchers were mainly taxi operators and owners from across the region.
Disgruntled members gave the MEC 14 working days to respond to their grievances.
Upon receipt of the memorandum Ndalane, who was accompanied by Department Head Hanli du Plessis, said she will sit down with management to respond to their grievances within the stipulated period.
