Braai Brothers get spicey

The successful duo have added spices to their quality braai services.

POLOKWANE – Friends and business partners at Braai Brothers, a mobile braai service, Kgabo Tefu and Rampete Rangata have teamed up with Phuti Food Manufacturing to provide a unique taste in their braai services.

The duo know when they are onto a good thing and have been providing braai services for a while and have recently found that unique factor that will make their braai services stand out, namely their choice of spices.

“We wanted take advantage of the braai culture as braaing is a business for us and we wanted to grow and expand the business. We did our research and found Phuti Lamola, who specialises in making spices and decided to team up with him so that we can add that unique element to our braai services. We saw how costly in terms of finances and time it was for us to go out there to look for the spices we needed,” said Tefu.

The spices are ideal for outdoor braaing and household use and they range from Gwa Baba Peri Peri, Mzanzi Chicken, Jabulani Braai, BBQ and lekker Steak and Chops spice.

The self-taught masters say they named the spices in a way that is accommodating to the diversity of the country as they offer braai services to places outside Limpopo.

The Braai Brothers have come up with their own spices

Braai Brothers’ advice when it comes to cooking is to not be afraid to experiment, especially with spices as that is how you perfect your cooking skills. They said as a cook it is important to be patient with your food to ensure a maximum cooking process to avoid under-cooking or overcooking, and know how to sprinkle the spice on your meat. The size of the meat always determines the amount of spice one should use,” advised Rangata.

The duo also touched on some of the challenges they have faced thus far in their journey. They say they wish retailers in the province would open up and warm up to the idea of giving small business such as Braai Brothers and Phuti Food Manufacturing the opportunity to sell their products in their shops as that is where they will grow and also where their clients shop.

“Imagine how convenient and also economically positive it will be for everyone if clients could find and our spices in retail stores,” the duo said.

Braai Brothers can be found on www.braaibrothers.co.za or contacted on: 084 877 4626 or 072 197 4276 and they are available on Facebook and Twitter as BraaiBrothers.
