MEC Ndou participates in #67minutes for Madiba

The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure in Limpopo, Mr. AJD Ndou, visited Tshilkundamalema Secondary school in Musina Municipality, as part of the International Mandela day activity.

LIMPOPO – Accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Mrs Florence Radzilani together with over 100 officials of the department, and traditional leaders, the construction of three blocks of flushing toilets, for male and female learners and urinal block for male learners, got underway.

“During the 2017 Back to school campaign, I was assigned to the school to check their academic readiness, and indeed, we did as required but above the academic readiness we found out that over 800 learners were sharing two-seater toilets, which was bad and needed an urgent intervention” MEC Ndou explained.

Construction of the toilet project is expected to be completed by end of July 2017.

Officials also cleaned and repaired broken windows, cleared school yard and did road marking of the R525 which is a tourist route to the Pafuri Gate of the Kruger National Park.

Ndou, further stated that the pedestrian crossing will assist in the regulation of speed near the school gate, as it is on the major road to the tourist destination.

“In the name of Mandela we see hope, dignity and sacrifice, hence our hands had to be in the deck for the learners and teachers of Tshikundamalema High School” concluded Ndou.
