Polokwane SPCA’s cattery gets a makeover

The SPCA Cattery on the outskirts of the city needed a new coat of paint and an upgrade, a task which residents willingly undertook.

POLOKWANE – Volunteers and people from several businesses took up paint brushes and a transformation started to take place.

The project aimed to provide the rescued and abandoned animals with a better place to stay until they are adopted and find a new home.

Tania le Roux, SPCA committee member, said that the project included the painting of the walls where the cats stay as well as giving them new toys to play with to keep them occupied.

She said that several businesses in the city contributed through donations of paint and other materials needed to upgrade the cages for the animals.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and urge people to come and adopt an animal from the SPCA and provide them with a good home,” Le Roux asked.

People who want to make donations can contact the SPCA on (015) 291 1088.

They can also be visited at 46 Lansdale, Roodepoort, Polokwane.
