Minor injuries sustained in two separate collision over the weekend in Mokopane – report

The exact cause of both accidents will form part of a police investigation.

MOKOPANE – Over the weekend several accidents occurred in town which fortunately didn’t result in any fatalities.

Two bakkies were involved in an accident on the corner of Thabo Mbeki Drive and Van Riebeeck Street on Saturday resulting in one of the bakkies rolling and landing on its side. A third vehicle, a sedan, also sustained minor damage during this accident. The drivers and passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident.

According to an eyewitness report, one of the drivers skipped a red robot and crashed into the second vehicle causing it to roll and hit a third vehicle, a sedan. It is alleged the driver attempted to flee the scene but was forced to stop a short distance away.

Both drivers and passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The other bakkie involved in the accident at Thabo Mbeki Drive and Van Riebeeck Street.

In another accident Saturday evening the driver of a SUV collided with a sedan at the corner of Rabé and Van Riebeeck Streets and crashed into the garden of one of the houses along the street where it came to a stop against a Naboom tree. No injuries were reported.

The exact cause of both accidents will form part of a police investigation.
