Get to know your city with Review’s Cadets

This is the first episode of "Know your Polokwane" where our cadets will explore the city with you.

POLOKWANE – Welcome to “Know Your Polokwane” Friday edition, the first of many to come.

We’re going to give you an unprecedented view of what Polokwane has to offer and by that, we say love your city and embrace it, for there is no place like home.

The first place we’re covering to introduce this week’s segment is the information office which is situated right next to the Jack Botes Park which is our main attraction for this week.

Jack Botes Park is one of the big parks in Polokwane, situated at corner Thabo Mbeki and Church street. It was named after Jack Botes.

Today it is one of the tourism attractions that people of Polokwane and the surrounding use to refresh their minds, relax and meet with friends.

Within the vicinity of the park we have the Jack Botes Hall, where people host weddings, conferences and other events.

There is also the Exton Photographic Museum, which exhibits 23000 glass negatives portraying the first 50 years of the town’s history on celluloid. These were taken by photographer, Hugh Exton, between 1892 and 1945. The museum is housed in a dutch Reformed Church built in the 1890’s.
