The Limpopo branch of the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa (Bwasa) has announced the adjudication panel for its annual Regional Business Achiever Awards (RBAA) that will be presented on 3 August in the city.
The members of the panel are Enterprise Development Director at Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (Ledet), Yvonne Ledwaba, previous RBAA winners Phuthi Ragophala and Granny Matsaung, entrepreneur Marietjie du Toit, Bwasa Limpopo Deputy Chairperson, Tanya Coetzer, Bwasa Limpopo Head of Corporate Governance, Vulani Malumbete and Limpopo Economic Development Agency (Leda) Trade and Export Development Head, Emily Khunou.
Mmabogoshi Msiza, Chairperson of the branch, said the awards will be made in recognition of the impact of women on the economy. “Since 2001, the Regional Business Achiever Awards, honouring entrepreneurial and professional women, have been held at each of the seven BWASA branches around the country. Awards are made in the Professional, Corporate, Entrepreneur, Emerging Entrepreneur and Social Entrepreneur categories. In the Entrepreneur category, awards are given to women as emerging entrepreneurs, established entrepreneurs as well as those who are involved in social entrepreneurship.”
Furthermore, the event aims to empower women with tips for success. “Last year’s event was a success with over 300 guests with the guest speakers being the Executive Mayor of Polokwane, Thembi Nkadimeng, MEC for Health Phophi Ramathuba and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane,” Msiza informed and added that this year’s guest speaker is renowned businesswoman Judy Dlamini.
