Musina duo in court for fraud

The men were arrested during an official search and seizure operation in the area

LIMPOPO – Two suspected loan sharks appeared before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of fraud and were granted bail of R1 000 each.

According to a statement issued by Hawks Spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke, the duo were arrested on Saturday, 1 July in Tshamtumbu area outside Musina, during a search and seizure joint operation by Hawks Commercial Crime Unit members and Crime Intelligence.

During the arrest Sassa cards, identity documents and pay-point machine were seized, he added.

Both suspects were charged for contravention of section 20 (1-2) of Social Assistant Act 13/2004 and their case was postponed to 1 August 2017 to allow for further investigation.
