Morobeng traffic station still closed after armed burglary

The Sekgosese DLTC in the Molemole Municipality has been closed until further notice following an armed burglary that happened on 30 June.

LIMPOPO – A group of about five armed suspects broke into the main building of Sekgosese DLTC at around 00:10 and tied up two security personnel who were on duty.
They then proceeded and entered into three offices, including the cashier’s by cutting the burglar door with an electric grinder, which they brought along with.
They  used the same grinder to cut open the three safes, two from the cashier’s office and one from the supervisor’s office.
They took a cash amount.
The incident has been reported to The Licensing Inspectorate at the Department of Transport and a case lodged with the Morebeng SAPS.
The Investigating Officer has collected the CCTV footage to assist them with investigations.
The following assets were damaged during the robbery incident:
• 3x Security Safes: for keeping cash and other critical documents.
• 4x Security burglar doors: Main Entrance, Supervisor’s Office, Cashiers and Store room.
• 4x Interior doors to the above offices.
• Network cables for the following assets were tampered with: 1x Municipal Cisco Switch was forcefully disconnected; 1x Municipal Router was forcefully disconnected; 2x Telkom routers forcefully disconnected.
Management is trying its utmost best to ensure that licensing services resume at their earliest convenience.
