[WATCH] Thalita Koum celebrates two years of giving back

Department of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Onicca Moloi explains the meaning of the project and why she started it.

POLOKWANE – Department of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Onicca Moloi hosted an event at Mercuries Polokwane on Thursday, 29 June, where different guests where invited from different companies.

Actor and Radio Host, Skhumbuzo Mbatha (known as Meneer Manaka in Skeem Saam) was invited as the guest program director for the night.

Thalita Koum Girls Network started by Moloi, is a charity organization whose primary objective is to improve the lives of young girls from disadvantaged areas and to help needy learners enroll at institutions of higher learning.

Moloi explained that Talita Koum means “young girl rise”.

She also explained that they were inspired by the Dorcus story in the Bible who was a volunteer, helping the needy. Onicca goes on further to say that it’s always very wise and a good thing to do to help the individuals that cannot give back.
