78-year-old man sentenced to 10 years in prison for murdering his girlfriend

He shot and killed his girlfriend (34) in 2015 following a domestic dispute.

LIMPOPO – Nakampe William Mosibihla (78) of Senakwe Section in Mokwakwaila village of the Mokwakwaila Policing precinct outside Tzaneen, was sentenced by the Polokwane high Court for the murder of his girlfriend.

On 10 October 2015, Mosibihla shot and killed his girlfriend, Margaret Semosa (34) with his licenced firearm in her home following a domestic dispute.

His firearm was forfeited to the state.

This is not the only sentencing handed to criminals:

Dzinisani Kenny Shivambu (24) was sentenced to nine months imprisonment or a R1500 fine for assault with grievious bodily harm, by the Bolobedu magistrate court which he committed on 24 December 2016.

Motolla Piet Mogoboya (26) from Ga-Rapitsi village in the Bolobedu Policing precinct, outside Tzaneen, was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape and a further 16 years imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances by the Regional Court in Tzaneen.

These sentences emanate from an incident which took place on 25 December 2010 when the 16-year-old victim from Ga-Kgapane township was walking from the local liquor outlet to her home when she was attacked by four suspects, including Mogoboya, and was gang raped and stabbed with a knife.

Police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects robbed her of her cell phone and disappeared.

“After this incident was reported to the police, the Tzaneen’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit began their investigations until Mogoboya was arrested on 10 January 2011,” Ngoepe says.

In the Ritavi Policing precinct outside Tzaneen, Confide Masinge (23) was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping a 16-year-old girl from Bonn Village, on the 28 November 2015.

Ngoepe says Masinge attacked and dragged her to the nearby bushes and raped her.

In the Dennilton policing area outside Groblesdal, Patric Frans Sisco Makwana (25) was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl on 13 February 2016

“The accused broke into a house in the Ntoane village, raped the 15-year-old girl, stole clothes and ran away,” Ngoepe explains

On 14 February 2017, he was found in possession of the stolen clothes and he was arrested

The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Jan Scheepers and management have welcomed these sentences with both hands and say they hope this will serve as a deterrent to all criminals out there that crime does not pay.

The General has also commended both the general Detectives and the FCS’ for the job well done.
