Suspect(s) injured in shootout after yet another attempted cash-in-transit heist in Limpopo

Limpopo police have asked the public or personnel at medical facilities in the province to be on the lookout for people who come in with gun shot wounds following an attempted cash-in-transit heist along the R528 Georges Valley road this morning (Monday)

LIMPOPO –  The SAPS Provincial Tracking team are looking for a group of armed suspects who are responsible for the attack and attempted robbery of a cash-in-transit vehicle along the R528 Georges Valley Road between Haenertsburg and Tzaneen at around  07:00 this morning (Monday).

Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says it is alleged an unknown number of suspects travelling in three vehicles attempted to block the vehicle and pull it off the road. “The suspects shot at the vehicle several times whereby the guards in the CIT vehicle retaliated and a cross-fire ensued. A few of the suspects were injured in the cross-fire and the suspects fled the scene empty handed.

The vehicles used in the said incident were two Mercedez-Benz sedans, one white and one black, as well as a Quantumn combi. All three vehicle has Gauteng registration numbers, said Ngoepe.

The police are calling on the public who may see or come across a person (s) with the gun shot wounds coming for a consultation at any medical facility to contact Captain Boshomane at 0798945501, the nearest Police Station.
