ATM bombing suspects flee the scene with cash and full fuel tanks

The Police Provincial Tracking team have launched a massive manhunt for a group of armed suspects who committed a business robbery in the early hours of this morning at a fuel station in Nobody Village, Mankweng.

MANKWENG – The incident is believed to have occurred at around 03:00 at a fuel station in Nobody Village.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that a group of unknown, armed suspects travelling in three separate vehicles entered the garage where they attacked the petrol attendants and ordered them to fill all their vehicles with fuel.

“Several of the suspects then entered the shop and stole cigarettes and other items, bombed the ATM and the drop safe, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.”

The suspects were travelling in:

  • A white Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie, registration number: DNN 148 L.
  • A silver-grey BMW, registration number: VSS 276 GP.
  • A charcoal Toyota Fortuner with an unknown registration number.

No injuries or fatalities were recorded during this incident and cases of business robbery and ATM bombing have been opened, said Ngoepe
