PCS teachers swop roles to celebrate Youth Day

The teachers and personnel dressed in school uniforms and the learners spent the day in casual clothes.

POLOKWANE – Anyone venturing into the grounds of Pietersburg Comprehensive School on Thursday, 15 June would probably have been either highly confused or highly amused.

The teachers celebrated Youth Day with the learners where they exchanged dress codes for the day.

Gr 5 teacher, Lillian Mphela, says they love celebrating Youth Day as the children will then understand the importance of 16 June and why the day is celebrated.

The teachers and personnel from PCS cheer in celebration of Youth Day during which they dressed as learners and the learners wore casual clothes for the day.

“We all love to participate in celebrations that matter the most to our learners, we don’t always explain why we celebrate these days, but when we do a re-enactment of what happened on that day, or wear the same dress code, they are forced to ask why all the teachers and the personnel are wearing school uniforms,” Lillian explained.

The learners enjoyed their Youth Day celebrations on the field where they were treated to snacks and played a few sport games.
