No ‘special’ treatment for shoplifters at MoTN

Shoplifters met their match at Mall of the North last Saturday when mall security acted on an alert they received from one of the tenants.

POLOKWANE – “Security followed up on the lead and identified the shoplifters and the vehicle they were traveling in. Three of the shoplifters were arrested and the vehicle was clamped, two suspects got away. Upon searching the vehicle and the suspects, jewellery and clothing to the value of R150 000 were found.  The tenants had no idea that they were shoplifted,” says General Manager, Sumari de Ridder.

“We as centre management would like to thank the tenant who phoned with the shoplifting lead, Urban Africa Security, trolley porters, parking assistants, Checkers security and even customers, who did not fold their hands, but  took part in a joined effort to help arrest the criminals.”
