Woman’s butchered body found, SAPS launch manhunt for ritual murder suspect (s)

LIMPOPO – The Provincial Tracking Team led by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner Detectives Major General Bafana Linda jointly with the Crime Intelligence Unit have launched a massive manhunt for suspect(s) who killed a middle aged woman in a village outside Thohoyandou.

The mutilated body of an unknown woman was found lying in the bushes outside Maungani village by a passerby on Saturday morning.

The mutilated body of this unknown woman, who is believed to be in her twenties, had multiple wounds on the head and some of the body parts missing, confirmed Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The deceased was wearing a pair of green leggings and it appears the she had been killed somewhere else and her body was dumped.

The motive behind this incident is suspected to be ritually related but investigations continue.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has noted this incident with shock and disbelieve, especially considering the brutality that characterized the murder and the trend of this type of incidents in the Province.
