Police winning the fight against stock theft in Limpopo

A 28-year-old man believed to be part of a stock theft syndicate in the area was arrested on Friday outside the city.

POLOKWANE – The Stock Theft Unit, following up on a tip-off from a local community, intercepted the suspect while he was conveying suspected stolen cattle in a truck along Lebowakgomo and Polokwane road on Friday, Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.

“All 13 suspected stolen cattle recovered during the arrest have been identified by their owners,” he added.

The suspect will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate Court on Monday on the charge of possession of stolen cattle. Police investigations are continuing.
