Body parts suspects remain in custody

The case against Edward Raatji (50) and and Matsobane Stanley Mohlake (33), arrested for the possession of human body parts in July last year in Polokwane, was postponed to November.

LIMPOPO – Two men accused of murdering a woman after they were arrested in the possession of a human head last year, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court again on Wednesday, 31 May.

They were arrested on 10 July 2016 after police followed up on a tip off they received about people selling body parts.

The men were found with the head of a woman, wrapped in newspaper, in their possession.

The head was linked a day later to a headless and burnt body that was discovered in Mapela, Mahwelereng. The victim was identified as Ntabiseng Mosomane.

The suspects appeared in the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court on 11 July 2016 for murder and were remanded in custody pending further investigation.

The case angered the community and both Mohlake and Raatji’s houses were set alight last year.

The case was postponed to 13 November for trail for a period of two weeks and both accused were remanded in custody.
