Taxi owner’s burnt body found in vehicle outside Polokwane

The family of the deceased allege the deceased was kidnapped on Monday

POLOKWANE – Local police  have identified the burnt body found outside the city as 42-year-old Solly Sithole, a taxi owner from Seshego.

According to Police Spokesperson Capt. Mamphaswa Seabi the deceased’s family reported him missing on Monday. It is alleged he was taken by force from his home and had not been seen since, until his burnt body was discovered in his vehicle outside Moletjie on Tuesday.

Upon police investigation it was found that he had been shot and killed before he was set alight, said Seabi.

“The motive for the murder in still unknown but taxi violence can not be ruled out.”

A case of murder is being investigated, confirmed Seabi.

POLOKWANE – A manhunt has been launched for suspect (s) believed to be responsible for the murder of a man whose burnt body was found near Seshego, said the police.

The body of the man, believed to be in his 40’s, was discovered in an bushy area near Moletjie on Tuesday, says Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“It appeared he had been set alight while inside his vehicle.”

The motive for the murder and the suspect(s) are still unknown. Police investigations continue.
